In the coming months I should be getting a KR put together with DCOE's, but I'm wondering about the flow implications of matching a round manifold to the oval+injector gap shape of the 16v head, I don't have the manifold yet but it seems like there's going to be a poor shape match between the two.
Is this right, and if so can anything be done about it or doesn't it matter?!
    Cheers!

As luck would have it, I'm porting a Dbilas manifold in the next week to see what flow I can pull back when fitted to a modded head (as cast, the manifold knocks a fair chunk off the flow), results will follow.

were did you get the Dbilas manifold from ? and how much was it ?

will be good to see the flow compaired to a Weber manifold

    Thats a nice manifold

i like the raised sectiions on the casting, would be good for fitting the nitrous injectors, were can i get one of those TWM's ?

It came via the customer I'm doing the head for so no idea how much, but I believe he bought it from Regal.

The Rowlands manifold shown in the pic with the Dbilas is MILES better in both shape and size/length. I cant believe that Dbilas have the injector cutouts cast into a manifold for carbs... just goes to show how little thought is put into many such "speed equipment" components.

I'm currently looking into a tubular alloy 16v manifold for as close to zero flow loss as possible, just finalising the size.

does anyone know what the throttle linkage setup is on the above image? i was looking for the weber duals but they only sell a single linkage with an arm for the other.

    thx

Looks like a Jenvey linkage. Twin cable Weber linkages are available from Southern carbs & Injection.

Hi Jason, the tubular alloy manifolds sound very interesting! Keep me posted on these.

A new manifold from Rowland is the M062, classed as 'long' (but in fact look a little shorter than the M037 shown with the Dbilas, unless image 2 is an interloper), pictured below - the latter 3 pretty much showing the 'wings' in different light/shadow:

... I'm not sure how this might fair flow wise?

More questions/information to follow up in our emails in due course, I've not forgotten!

Is that meant to be a 16v Golf inlet James ?

Looks a bit short, and a very odd internal shape.

I've got to get on with tubular manifold soon as it's the next part of the project, details to follow as and when... couple of weeks.

Yep it's for a 16v. I think the lower raised section is to match that of the lower raised section of a standard manifold? Not too sure about having this part at the top, as you have the injector hole still present on the head... I'm not too sure but like you you say, it's too short still!

Is the tubular one you're designing for a/your 8v?

The one posted above looks good, would be good to try and find a maker.
