I'm doing my mates cambelt on an '85 GL, and can't seem to work out where the top TDC mark on the cam pulley lines up to on the head...

    Any ideas?

    Ta!

theres a punch mark on the rear face of the cam pulley, this lines up with the head surface (rocker cover & seal removed)

Cheers for that, I assumed the dot on the front of the pulley was the one I was after [:[]

    ...Good job it's non interference!

there is always the chance the pulley has been put on backwards, so if it doesnt seem to bve running properly even with all the marks lined up whip off the cam cover and check the lobes on #1 point up and away from each other diagonnaly at TDC.

Sorted it all now it's ok, there was another mark on the back of the pulley which was right.

So, what's the dot on the front, almost dead oposite the proper TDC mark for? [:[]
