Hello everyone Fitted the new GRP Bonnet used standard bonnet sliding pin clips (GB Made) Now I've got the GRP Tailgate to fit , can't decide which fasteners to use . its a single skin tailgate without internal frame so I can't use the standard hinge . anybody got any photo's of how they fitted theirs. Both me and Sambo are trying to decide options as we both have the same issue
Obviously you want it secure , but are you bothered about security ? Are the tailgate seals still on ? You could screw a aluminium plate along the top edge to hook under the lip, being along the length will ad rigidity and lots of screws shouldn't put to much strain on one spot . Standard slid pins in the bottom corners ? Mike
There's the standard seal, its only an outer skin so will have to put some adhesive foam in the gap to fill the space with no internal frame . Security isn't an issue it's only used for racing . I've got some Aluminium strip 20mm x 2mm x 1metre to stick in the top and the bottom were the clips will go with Sika 291 Adhesive to strengthen it.
