Chris, is that bora now blue ? Hadn't seen it since 2002-2003 then bumped into it at the lights near Sliders at the 'ring late last year, small world lol.
I would doubt it has been to the 'Ring - isn't road registered. The Bora was black ^^ , then dark blue.... Now white...
Yep, those are the ones I recall.. On the face of it, didn't look that badly damaged tbh... Multi-point Rollcentre cage and all...

Grantly woodhatch.....to use his REAL name ! used to live down the road,as he's partial to taking other peoples cars home with him i had the pleasure of a good gander around the mk just after it was finished. 15K was/is alot of money to spend on a mk1 or any track car IMO.Did look great in that colour though. Steve married grants wife's sister??? Lisa?? I was there that day aswell! Had my mk4 gti then and RYU 16v warrior that made it to the ring and back in 2004. My mk2 vr6's track cars been fettled by chrisP and will be up at combe/ring this year.

Blimey GV - that brings back the memories - GMS just called me and said about that crash so i thought i better log on - I remember it well. I was following him round for a few laps - in my old 2 litre 16v mk1 - he looked like he was going well - i dont think he was that track experienced at the time although he was moving on really well. I got by him and remember looking in my mirror and seeing the carnage. Compared to my old shi**er Mk1 that was a beauty. My mate Tiny towed the car back for him i am sure. All a bit unfortunate that. I have met him since a couple of years back. Least he got out ok.
The damage looked minor, i would have fixed that. We've had drivers roll cars and then put them in the bodyshop for new panels no problems. With the cages the chassis should be fine. 10-15K is about right for a car of that spec
I'm also surprised still that it was w/off, but I never saw it after the crash so just assume there was a crucial kink somewhere...
I seem to remember that it hit hard on the driver’s side and broke the gearbox mount on the chassis leg so something must have moved a fair way, might have twisted the front end??? But like you say anything can be fixed if you have the time etc... Joe you up for a track day or 2 this year?? The Exige will give that old Bora a run for its money
