    Hi all
Have two keys on a recently bought mk5 gti, one of the keys must have been flat for a while. Replaced the battery but am unable to get the key working with the central locking. Tried the ignition on, inserting the new battery key into the drivers door lock, pressing open, twisting the key to lock, then twisting the key to unlock. Doesn't seem to work. Is there another way?
    Cheers Nardoblue

I'll have to speak to some one at work that has VAGCOM, the key opens and starts the car, the red light lights up when pressed.....

I have a full vagcom, I'm in brackley should be quite close to you. Welcome to use it if it helps, though I don't know the process to reset the key.
