I'm gonna ditch the 2 quarts of Redline oil from my box later.
It's only been in 3 weeks, so i was gonna drain it to a unused container, and then pour it back in when the job is done.

    Will this be ok?
If i loose a little bit of the 2 quarts (left in the container) will it still be ok?

    Cheers.

Some is going to be left in the gearbox, so if you are taking it apart you are going to be losing some. You might need a top up.

Surely, removing the oil and then putting it back in is going to be fine, as long as it does not get contaminated in the removal and refill process.

    Cheers

Just a little woried as 2 quarts is less than 2 litres, so it was slightly less than needed anyway...

Am i OK putting a little 'normal' gearbox oil in to top up slightly?

When you drained the box and refilled it with redline, you would have been doing exactly that with the redline and old oil anyway. Should be fine.

    Cheers

If it looks clean, re-use it.

Don't forget to run a magnet through it first to pick up any ferrous mettalic sh1t, and filter it too.

Redline is too expensive to throw away if it hasn't been in long.

unless you lose the speedo drive gear in the box when you take the cable out, you *should'nt* lose any oil when taking out an 020.. ;)
