REALLY stiff clutch pedal - 020 Mk2 Jetta

    Do you think that might be what's causing the problem with the pedal?

    I'll email the above diagram to VWH and see if they can get 22 and 23 for me.

    Bought the cable from VWH but it in fact DOESN'T have parts 22 and 23 on it as the photo would suggest.

    Any of you chaps with the power of EKTA happen to know the part numbers for these so I can try getting them from TPS?

    How does one access EKTA, do you need to be in the trade?

    23 - 171721308 - 2.21+VAT

    for etka, you need to be a vw dealer or a dirty pirate ;)

    How did you get on with this? What caused it all in the end? My clutch isn't heavy but it is dragging. I've changed just about everything I can now with only the pedal to go.

    In the end it turned out that replacing the spacers/grommets mentioned earlier in the thread, and fitting a Gemo cable from VWH sorted the problem.

    Adding the grommets/spacers made some difference, and then fitting the correct cable bought it back to totally normal operation. The two cables fitted prior were from local factors who I presume had cables lying around that were for some form of Mk2 Golf but not specifically that gearbox - should have paid extra for the right part in the first place!
