rear wash wipe won’t squirt

any ideas crew?
92 8v gti, wiper worx but the water spray won't. Cleaned the eye of the thing with a thin needle but still no luck.

Fuse ok, motor or pump?
I don't know, do u?

Might sound daft but have you checked you've got water in the washer bottle? You use a lot more than you think in this crap weather!!!

 

Has the pipe connection maybe blew itself off if it was frozen for eg, check at pump on washer bottle by removing the line which goes to back window and try to see if water will come out when actuated then take it from there.

 

Can you hear the pump whirring?

 

Replaced washer pump a few days ago myself 13 from GSF, it died of old age the last one.

 

Afternoon all, I own a Golf Mk2 16V:

Is there a switch/connection within the steering column that is used to activate the front water jets? I had to replace my indicator lever recently - now when I pull the wiper lever to work the front water jets the front and rear wipers do 4 screen sweeps ( odd!!)

I'd be grateful for any advice
