My golf rear wipers stuck at 11 o clock position, I took the motor, arm and wiper of, it was seized on, the motor spins correctly if I have 12volts across pins 1 and 4 on the motor socket on a bench (outside pins) the plug on the car supplies 12v constantly to the motor, yet it won't spin. I am confused why 12Volts is permanently supplied to the motor and why the motor will not work. The relay clicks when I operate the switch.

If I close the boot catch by hand but keep the boot open and move the boot lid up and down the wiper starts working with a 6 second interval between wipes.

I am thinking there is a second boot closed switch somewhere. I tried shorting out pins on the boot closed plug but this made no difference.

Once i close the boot properly the wiper stops working.
