if it was painted with aerosols and not done very well you may be able to just rub it off with thinners?

I used nitromors on my wheels, it went straight through the paint, the primer and the lacquer that someone had painted over below it all!

It did require alot of nitromors though...and that stuff isn't the cheapest.

Could you just key the lot and then respray+lacquer them?

i used nitromors for my bbs alloys.

i got a bucket big enough for a wheel to fit in and poured in about 1.5litres of the stuff. it works best when put on thick. did all 4 wheels in 3hours, all with tthe same batch of nitromors

I really wouldn't know, but I'd personally account for a new set of tyres, or have 'em taken off if they're any good.

on the back of my tin of nitromors it says "protect from damage: rubber"

so I'd either use it on the centres and hand sand/machine the edges+lip or take the tyres off if you're going to use that stuff.
