Yeh Alloys are worth around 10 a pop.... We usually use a Stihl Saw it'll chew blades though be warned... And give you plenty of Rubber dust:lol: but we do 50 or so rims in a go....

There was a guy killed here last week, while blowing up a new truck tyre. It exploded, and apparently so did he.
I normally just let them down, then cut round them leaving the bead where it is,

If you want rid and can keep the tyre in 1 piece remember most farmers need tyres to weigh the covers down on their silage[sp?] in a few months.
Why pay a garage a few quid a pop to dispose when a farmer will take em for free?

One of those electric reciprocating saws to cut around the sidewall them a dremel with a reinforced cutting disc to cut through what's left and the steel wires.

Then take them to the tip for free.

I love the cracking noise they make when they are cut. [:$]

I weighed 7 alloys in the other day. Got 0.75 per KG for them, 60 in total!

doing this for years, release the pressure in the tyre, crack the bead boths sides using a lump or sledge hammer, your be how strong it is, use a couple of crow bars (flat ended) and remove same as you would a bike tyre HTH

You can break the bead by using your car and drive onto the sidewall of the tyre.

    Dodgy though

I have a couple of sets of scrap alloys, might go weigh them in tomorrow [:D]
