    2023-06 - mk2 rear cluster broken for cgti.JPG

Just bought a set of blue rear clusters which were cheap (ish) because the black plastic surround is damaged.

I was hoping to swap the lenses over to a good plastic surround from another set but after a bit of gentle prying / looking I'm not convinced it's possible or sensible. Has anyone done similar or know how the coloured lens parts are attached to the black part?

Now considering patching with bits from another cluster - there's some videos around of people using soldering irons to melt / 'weld' plastic parts together then smoothing over with filler. I'm sure the smell and acrid smoke is very healthy.

Any tips or guidance welcomed [:o)]

You will get a good result with superglue (activator will be helpful here). Then you can simply use filler and paint.
