Bound to have loads of the Autocavan trick bits on it. Anyone still got the article they can scan? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VOLKSWAGEN-GO...ewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item4a9e69658a
Dont be silly. I have no money and space, or tools. Sold all those too. It'll be a money pit. But a money pit with a bit of history for someone that buys it.
Looks in a sorry state now, hope it gets rescued! What I wouldn't give for a set of early recaros like that......
we have loads of those old VW Motoring mags in a box upstairs at work and the cover of that one looks familiar. ill have a look tomorrow.
Sad to see that the shell looks like its starting to rust to oblivion. Nice piece of golf history, but probably at least 500 over priced in that condition.
It's been on here / eBay recently - I must flag this thread to Geoff Thomas, who will know the car inside out:
Had missed that when it was posted on here Chris. Worth saving/rehosting those pics for reference. Shame it needs a bit of tidying, but the spec sheet looks very nice for a good road car. Wonder what its like underneath.
They are GTI Engineering option wheels. IIRC correctly they were avaiable in; all silver, silver and black (as above) and silver and white.
They`re definately GTI Engineering wheels, which were made by RH. From Bones` RE2000 Synchro thread; Zender did supply the `aero` kits and one wheel type for GTI Engineering though.
What's the difference between that and other 9a swaps except when it was done. There's loads of 9a swapped T-Red GTis out there.
Simple: it's got an interesting history from one of the most recalled names in VW tuning, Autocavan. My guess is they were gone (sold/merged into GSF) before you got into VWs, but tap it into the search and see what you find
