im not a photographer by any stretch, and could do with some advice, i need to resize some photos down to a custom size about 75mm x 75mm, is there an easy way of doing this?
Microsoft paint ? To start microsoft Paint, click 'Start', 'Programs', 'Accessories', then 'Paint' Open the image file you wish to edit Click the 'Image' Menu at the top and select "Stretch/Skew Image" Choose a percentage figure to resize the image: to avoid distortion, choose the same percentage for horizontal and vertical stretch Click "Ok" Once you have the desired size, click 'File', then 'Save' or 'File', then 'Save As..' to prevent overwriting the original image.
Try looking for a cheap copy of Photoshop Elements - that'll do it for you at a fraction of the price of PS itself. You won't even need the latest version.
Enc - does the latest version of Paint handle jpg files? Last time I used it, I seem to recall it only dealt with bitmaps, which are clunky and hefty.
Yes it does Stella. Not exactly up to PS standards but if the guy only wants to re-size pics then its fine..... free too, which is nice
This is a freebie too .... http://www.gimp.org/ don't let the name put you off not used it my self but its supposed to be a decent bit of software
