How easy is it / how much does it cost to retro fit Xenons to a Mk 5 Edition 30. The only reason I ask is that I've found good example - but it doesn't have xenons! I've tried upgraded bulbs in some previous cars, but nothing comes close to genuine xenons....once you've had them, it's difficult to live without them.

really hard to retro fit the whole system, best bet is to fit a set of HID's, but you have to have the version with a resistor fitted, or you'll get the bulb wasrning light on.

I have HID'S on a mk1 & mk 4. not got around the fitting set on mk 5 yet

May I ask how much they were? Did you find them easy to fit? To make life easier, I would much rather buy a car with them already fitted, but they are few and far between. Having done a specific search on autotrader for a mk 5 gti, no older than 3 years with no more than 40,000 miles, 5 doors, manual and xenons, it only came up with 5 cars in thw whole of the UK - and one of those a mk 6, so that makes 4 available!!

I think Crispy was also talking about the headlight washers etc.

Xenons are a pretty easy retrofit on their own however.
