Quite a nice rado, he came over sometime late last year to AW tracksport all the way from Cornwall (commitment!) for a check over while I was there doing some engine stuff. Said it was something like 360bhp at the time. But is after building a 800bhp engine to break 200mph in it! :o

I doubt he'll be able to do 200mph with all that kit on it.

Where in Cornwall is he? I've never seen that about or even heard about it.

Yo! luke he lives in roche. Iam in st austell. The raddo has been out a fair bit, Will be at RTTS 06 this year. Also will be at bugjam.

Polog4tracer, just an update the raddo came back this week-end after a few weeks at Owen devopments for a remap on the motec. I gave a lift up to oxford so he could drive it back. Alan rebuilt the engine at xmas after the block split. (ahheeem) no antifreeze..lol

So he rebuilt another engine with new Rods/pistons/block also changed the head for the big ported version, but have teething problems with compression. Currently running 350HP but its well capable of more.

No doubt you will catch alan at the shows. when the raddo running well be gettin good figures. Andy walters done the corner weighting and suspension tuning.

    Regards
    Andy

PS. JAPFEST 06 By me!. http://media.putfile.com/JAPFEST2006 just my little video of it!

Cool, is that engine in the rado at the mo is it? A proper steel pistoned, rods, crank etc engine should go very well and be very powerful, my mate is doing his 2l 20v to only 400bhp for racing. The yanks that dragstrip them competitively can get 800 odd bhp out of them easily, well plus the .

    800bhp...easily?

    don't be stupid.

If you want that sort of power you don't start with a 1.8......

Well ok, not easily but its been proved that it can be done, was on the vortex a while back. How long it lasts is another matter. Agree with you about starting from something other than a 1.8 though.

I dont like the front end either. PSG done the body work. Also the front lights are BMW. if i can remeber what alan yaps about..lol

The engine was a 1.8, now a 2.1. Agreed the yanks are gettin stupid figures out of the 1.8T but in reality 500HP realiable. Cant remember what rods he bought n pistons but well exspensive. Imported from EIP USA. Even the crank was uprated. I think the bottom end was rebuilt to take the huge amount of thrashing its going to get. As u know one thing goes wrong and wooopseee there goes the engine.

The reiger kits is ok but the GTO kit is well over the top. Not my first choice tho. I have been in it and its well quick, and for a front wheel drive car, puts down the power nicely. Must admit, it sticks out like sore thumb in any car park. lol

"Rather have a MK1" im bias!..:)

    Mid 14's??

    Slow as **** tbh. I've seen mk2 20v's run mid 13's with 280bhp.

    And I have a Mk2 VR6 with 202 bhp thats run 14.4.

And don't get me started on the bodywork[xx(] Max Power me up.

I, honestly, hand on heart, see no redeeming features of the body work on that corrado. If it was on a Saxo it would be ridiculed.

It has been put on a Corrado, the best looking standard car VW made (imho), it should be severally ridiculed for that fact alone.

    Discraceful scenes.

    Honestly people, what looks better....

    This

Or This (plus a shocking bonnet and bad looking lights)

That would be so much better if thet rice style kit was taken off, other than the kit is is a pretty darn good car.

When the Vid was shot with the beetle racing alan, it never had the Body kit and it had the 1.8T stock K03, emerald ECU. Think it was shot on 2002 at bugjam. It has now a bigger turbo since and never run at and event since. Done a shoot at Silverstone on a wet day. If alan gets off his **** and get the engine sorted, it will be at bujam this year, just to see what he will get on the track. Best he got on the old engine was 14.28 1/4 mile.
