Looks like its in the way if its that plug at the front in the top pic? I've got a mk3 and a mk4 shifter but am planning to do the polo shifter housing mod to avoid cutting the tunnel

Ps I'd already offered up the mk3 slave cylinder as that's the route I was originally going to go, ignore that bit

Hey sorry for being anoying but does anyone have a definative part number or vehical i can get a clutch cable from to suit my mk1 - 02a seat acctuator.. pretty pleasssse

I've tried about 3 now but they've all been wrong size or wrong ends...

I'd preffer it go around the front i think... if thats better for strain? but generaly one that works would make me happy right now! lol

What mods if any need to be made?

    Edit:???? lol

Another reason for going round the front is i've done the rod conversion also.. so think things will start conflicting with each other round the back....

have you tried mk1 1.3 with the inner cable sleeve/spring chopped down to give it enough length?

I am using a self adjusting clutch cable from Euro car parts. It's made by Pagid and is 1852mm long. Mine goes over the rocker cover, round the front of the engine and straightpast the shifter inline with the gearbox mount. I did need to remove the reverse switch from the 02J shifter though.

    Euros Part No.: 646790028

They also have a sale on online parts right now.

Oh and it required some mods to work. I had to cut off the plastic sleeve on the bulkhead end, then remove the washer and large bush from an OE mk1 cable, cut a slot in those and fit them to the seat cable.

Yea tried the mk1 1.3 one but it had the worng end at the gearbox side.. but offering that in place made think i'm gonna need to go round the front cose of the rods..

Ahh cool that looks like a seat cable.. was wondering if the bulk head end needed adapting..

Still wouldnt mind getting right round the front rather than over.. prob asthetics more than anything! lol

Think it'll all depend on the set up as a whole mate, a hydrolic set up will feel better I guess?

Feels fine tbh. Biting Point was a bit higher than normal but didn't bother me at all on track. No missed gear changes either.

I've fitted actuator with the engine still out of car, seems like the clutch is depressed all the time, think that the piston with the spring on it is much longer than it needs to be. Anyone had this issue, does it need shortening? Am using g60 fly and vr6 clutch with o2J box.

Yes murph81, I'd like to know this too, anyone got around this yet?

Fit a mk3 CDA box or swap over the CDA selector mechanism to the 20v box

If you want to keep the 02J shifter with the reverse switch you need to go hydraulic clutch and pedal.
