Hi guys, its been a while i know Mk2 is currently off the road after 10 years of faultless driving, for a major refresh of basically everything. I've decided to keep the Seat Cable change setup as I like its simplicity and feel, but I'm finding it hard to find a replacement cable for the clutch. Does anyone know where I could possibly find a new replacement ? (1L0 721 335G - SEAT Toledo ABF auto adjust clutch cable 1L0 721 335C - SEAT Toledo TDI manual adjust clutch cable) Thanks in advanced guys ( I've added a picture of the same cable as mine found on Google)
the seat ones are now NLA, so all you can do is get the 1.3 and mod it, pics/info here: https://clubgti.com/forums/index.ph...art-numbers-with-clutch-cable-bracket.107068/
Thanks for the replies above guys, much appreciated. I was hoping there would be an aftermarket cable available, but after searching high and low, I’m gutted that they are NLA anywhere :-( I bet someone is sitting on a NOS one somewhere in the World. I’ll look into the 1.3 cable as a last alternative though. Thanks guys.
So guys a quick update. No luck finding a Seat Cable anywhere, even from friends overseas, so I'm going to go down the route of the Mk2 Golf 1.3 clutch cable. After searching high and low for the best options, I came across the EPYTEC website, which sells a complete kit for the cable conversion. VW Golf 2 Lagerbock mechanische Kupplung G60 VR6 1,8T 02A Getriebe | Epytec.de I've already purchased a new actuator, but I'm assuming the short bracket they supply (also sold separately) would be basically a direct fit using a Mk2 Golf 1.3 clutch cable and no modifications needed ? Has anyone used one of their clutch cable mounts before ? Would like to know if any mods were still needed after fitting this. Cheers.
the clutch cable bracket is easy to DIY so I wouldn't buy a complete kit for it. Though I'm pretty sure you can get the eyptec bracket on its own? heres something I mocked up in cardboard in 5 minutes. repeat the design in steel and job done, dont even need to weld
just watch out for the retaining bolt and the tower with the cable holder being moved back a bit so it works directly with a 1.3 cable, may have to experiment a bit. in particular watch where the selector lever ends up when you select reverse, its pretty tight
Search eBay as the parts separately are a heck of a lot cheaper than epytec, I'll see if I can find it again

Thanks for the replies above guys. Decided to go with the Epytec mount on its own now, as it just makes things easier and quicker for me to complete this rebuild. VW Golf 1 2 3 Gegenhalter für Kupplungsszug Umbau 16V 1,8T VR6 G60 Getriebestütze | Epytec.de
