Just a way out suggestion, but have you considered the Octavia vRS. I've owned one since June and can honestly say it is a fantastic car. Both Autocar and evo have proclaimed it to be the best performance bargain of the current VAG range, with evo giving it 4-star. Has the 180 bhp engine and you can pick up an early one for 6k. Alternatively, you can pick up an ex-police vRS for about 5k. Often these have been chipped to 225bhp. If you can look past the badge, the Octy vRS is a seriously good car. As witnessed by a tailgating A4 driver last night! Edited by: Skodub
have a look on seatenthusiasts.co.uk (though i think its changing over to seatcarclub.co.uk) as well From experience when a mate was looking for Leon Cupra he found it prety hard. Good cars, for me personally got to be a canary yellow with the 17" 5spoke alloys but dont like the new FR Edited by: mk2driva
yeah it looks pretty hard to find one, of course my money will only buy an early one, but the later ones look nicer!!! Its a hard game to play!
Ibiza mk3/4's are cheaper i think (not really looked for them) but id prefer the Leon myself. Ill have a wee look up here at whats goin. Keep your eyes on the ScottishVag Site as well - mite get some info there or even one coming up in for sale section (if your prepared drive to scotland for one though!)
1 Seat Leon Cupra 20vT or sport () (178) @ 5500 2 Seat Leon Cupra R 210 () (210) @ 5800 3 Seat Leon Cupra R 225 ((1 (03-) (222) @ 5900 4 Seat Leon Cupra R Revo (1 (03 - )) (271) @ 5838 5 Seat Leon TFSI () (182) @ 6000 apparently!..... Edited by: Seraph

thanks very much dude real dilema, coz i want a decent one for for 5-6k but its difficult to find anything, u can find 2002 facelift ones but they are HIGH milage.... bit of a pain really!
check www.kaimparkgarage.com theres a yellow one on it for 6995 although it has tragic cupra decals and shockin wheels. Its also on autotrader so price may be bit high
mite get it cheaper if you played on that fact but first impression is it mite possibly have been ragged by a boy racer cos who in there right mind would put them on!
If it was me, I would go for the Skoda Octavia vRS instead. Much nicer car, better interior and very nice drive, plus bargain price
