I have the worst signal in my car.

I have an after market stereo fitted to the car. All I ever get is static and intermittent signal. It's going my head in.

Any ideas how to make it better. The car is a 2002 Seat leon Cupra.

Weirdly my Leon has just gained this problem, it always had a really good signal as before. Mine is the standard set up though still, if anyone can help I'd also be grateful!

Does it have an amplified aerial? If so is it getting power from the Head unit?

First check that your headunit is sending power out to the amplified aerial base. I forget which pin this is but it should be on the net somewhere. Or just check for 12v at the aerial base, does mean pulling your headlining down a bit though.

    For Dan and Anthony
I replaced the amplified base in my Ibiza last summer and it made a big difference. The amiplifiers get water in and die after time.

It might be worth trying a new amplified base.

Would put that as 99% on the amplified aerial base being dud.

with the std radio you can scan it for faults, which comes up with a aerial issue normally open circult

The base burns out/water ingress and stops working, and after market radio won't show this but get a naff signal
