This is a post to say a huge thanks to the big man @dodgy Thanks to this forum and the helpful nature of everyone here I have had the good fortune to meet Dave. Always willing to help and in my case, a huge amount of advice and parts has been forthcoming. To top this all off I asked Dave a massive favour the other day and even though he was up to his eyeballs in “life” there was an instant and unflinching yes. Dave drove across Yorkshire for me to collect a pair of seats I managed to buy off Facebook. Without Dave’s help I would never have been able to get what I had been after for ages. This is what is so good about forums like this, the help, whether it be advice or physical there are still Diamonds out there in world that always seems to be out for itself and ready to implode. Thanks Dave
Definitely, he’s great. Supplied me with a few parts and happy to help! @dodgy if you need anything down south, let me know
I'm welling up, thank you. It's a fantastic group, lucky to have met some of you, and thank you for helping me clear space in the shed If ever I can help anyone I will try, mind is usually non stop with a million things, and if I'm out and about at the scrapyard I gather stuff I find interesting or may be useful to someone. it's not been a great 2022 so far but life twists and turns and will get sorted. @PhilRyder, was no problem at all, even if I had to cross to the wrong side of the hills! Or so they say, and the seats are safely locked up, plus was good to meet another golf owner. @Savagesam there's a parcel with your name on it ready to post tomorrow, and one for @MJA too, who it was great to meet a few weeks ago, even though Yorkshire temperatures weren't great. Team CGTI, that's it, all aiming to keep the cars alive and work together, friends help each other, bounce ideas and suggestions. Kettle is always on, right, who wants a 1.6 mk2 engine for free? Cheers Dave
I bought stuff from Dave, and tbh I didn't even open the box to check when it arrived, as I knew I didn't need to. One of the good uns.
Nice one @dodgy Have to agree this forum is great for stuff like this, would be great to meet you all at some point and put faces to names etc If anyone needs anything from NE Scotland area I'm happy to help where I can!
I'm late to the party but I echo @PhilRyder re @dodgy The wife and I had a couple of nights in the peak district in January and I conincided a visit to Dave for some parts and had great chat for ages - Dave goes without saying if you need anything from me you can just shout
