Just wonderin why no Skoda drivers are on this forum, the falatio was essentially a mk3? and a mk 4 and probably now a mk5.......... Maybe the great name puts people off. A Felatio 20VT now that would be something
they was gonna call it the cunnilingus but skoda thought that was too much of a mouthfull. i'll get me coat [:^(]
Bought a felicia for my granny in law as a cheap runabout,(love the new name but iwont bother explaining it to her) Not bad as a runabout but theres nothing in common with vw cars other than basic mechanical layout is the same in design terms, its bit like a mk2 golf. ie front and rear suspension. no common parts that I can see although front lower susepnsion arsm look like mk1 items to me Think it was designed before vw bought the company, later on they shoved a vw 1.6 lump in its pretty light (950 kgs) and even has a strutbrace in the front. why im not sure. would make an interesting project car, the engine bay is big so you could fit allsorts in it and theres probably plenty of rally bits on the shelf. has crossed my mind to do something with it when shes finished with it Edited by: lewiscypher
Wasn't there a VR6 Felicia floating about a few years ago... bright yellow one? I'm a Skoda Driver BTW.... got a Fabia vRS!
Another Skoda driver here! First VW based Skoda was the Octavia. It uses the chassis from the Mk4 Golf.
I remember looking at an octavia on display in the local shopping center and a skoda dealer trying to convince me that floor pan was thought up for the octavia, so rather than the mk4 golf, audi a3, tt, ect having a mk4 golf derrived floorpan they had an Skoda designed octavia derived floor pan
No. Passat platform forms the basis for the Supurb. If you like the Octavia VRS you should look at the Toledo 1.8T. Practically the same car but they are oh so cheap.
Fabia - Polo platform Octavia - Golf platform Superb - Passat platform Actually, thinking about it the Felicia is based on VW platform! So it is the first VW based Skoda!
