can you fit these to a Mk 5 GTI with 18" alloys? 225x40VR 18. Clearance maybe an issue. Am going skiing at Easter. The French Police get real heavy if you have none....! UK Main dealer cannot help. The handbook only refers to smaller wheel sizes. Help!
you might have to change the wheels at front wheels to steels ( dealer should have loads knocking about at the back ) the UK dealers don't do the snow chains (not on accessories list) - proper UK manual have no mention of snow chains!! can't recall what one customer done (in same position with a touran) sure he had to import his own chains, and but he had to buy smaller front alloys with snow tyres
Surely you have to buy generic items from an accessories outlet / ski shop? - or call a European VW dealer...
