Next car I'll be tapping the factory rear speakers to connect to the AMP, but as my AMP already accepts a high level input, is it worth buying a 20 adaptor to use instead and would I notice any difference since my AMP has one built it?

Some say to ditch the AMP built in convertor but i can't see how much better a 20 strung together adaptor will be any better?

Mine was clipping, and stuttering on really heavy bass even with the gain turned right down using high level inputs.

Got myself an adjustable low level convertor. So much better now. Nice deep, crisp bass with zero clipping.

Paid 15 for it at my local stereo place, but the same one is cheaper here.

Cheers Stu, they're the one's I was looking at but some seem to be just a few wires whilst others are adjustable.

Didn't think about the clipping issues, but great cheers for the link :)

I can see 5 wires in the pic, naturally I can understand 4 of them for the 2 channel but what's the 5th one for?

    Just noticed that! [:s]

Mine definately has just the four (brown, black, grey and green).

Blue is normally used for remote amp switching, but I can`t see why the remote signal would go through it...

Just took a look at my amp so will definately need one of these connectors.

Is it ok to nip it inline with the rear speaker connections or will it then mess up the rear speakers itself as its draining from them?

I`ve spliced into the rear speakers with no problems.
