best speakers to use in a mk3 gti5dr too keep the standard grilles

 

Get a 6" componet set. Ones with a thin metal frame will allow standard grills to be used.

 

You want 6.5", 6" is half an inch too small

It depends what you want to spend, I had Fli components front and rear in my old mk3, cheap but sounded ok

 

i was fitting my jbl gto626e's but the tweeter stands about 7mm to proud for my grill to fit

so now looking at alpine sxe-1725s or pioneer ts-g1711 ithink
