I voted GPS because usually by the time it's alerted you of laser it's too late anyway!

GPS knows where the cameras are, as opposed to picking them up and alerts you in plenty of time.

Just get an Origin B2 though and have GPS, radar AND laser [:D]

the way i see it is, if you've got gps only, say RA classic, then its not gona warn you if theres coppers with hand helds?
Sides, i thought some radar/laser units warn you several hundred meters before hand?
don't think they're banning laser are they?

With a laser detector you might get an early warning if they are targetting the car in front of you.

The best all rounder does seem to be the origin b2 as Golfgirl says. :)

Road Angel classic (providing it has the extra module) and Road Angel 2 both come with laser detect too.

Also, RA or RA2 is fully portable, Origin b2 has to be wired into the car.

So what do people with gps do when they get a radar threat, say a handheld gun?

I've never seen the RA in action so can't really comment on it, but I'm more than happy with the Origin B2. GVK has the RA Classic and has driven my car quite a bit and says the OB2 is much better.

It CAN be moved from one vehicle to another, but you need to purchase a second car installation kit. I had mine hardwired into the car because there was too many cables trailing about and it looks really neat now. [:D]

I update mine online and it only takes a couple of minutes. They recommend doing it every week. The subscription is free for the first 6 months and then 50 per year.

    Origin B2 website

As for the price, I believe you get what you pay for.

I chose the OB2 over the RA because it's smaller and neater. When the RA is on the dash you have the cable trailing down to the cigarette lighter. I can stand mess so that would annoy me
