Hello! I've run into some trouble with my Volkswagen! It's a 1981 Rabbit convertible with the engine and transmission from a MK1 GTI. It's been sitting for a number of years and now I'm trying to undo the effects of neglect to make it a reliable summer car. The current struggle I'm facing is making the speedometer work. I've removed the cable and twisted the end and the speedo needle moves, but when I put it in the transmission and take it for a spin, I still get nothing. It's a 5-speed manual from the same GTI as the engine if that helps. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated!
