Just picked up a set of second hand alloys to find the centre bore is larger than the hub. The wheels are 64/65mm and the hub is 57.1mm (MK2 golf). They are multifit design and I have no idea what make they are.

I need some spigot rings to stop them juddering (off the car at the moment), but can't find ANYWHERE that has the right ones. Is there anywhere I could get a set made or not?

    Thanks

If it is non standard then an engineering co. would do them for not very much.

Are they aftermarket jobbies? Find a retailer that sells that brand and they should be able to order you a set.

Are they easy enough to make? All the ones i've seen are just thin plastic jobbies. Is it better to make them from metal or plastic?

Style dynamix have quite a few different sizes. Give them a ring and they will help you out.

would have though that metal was the best material. Its a load bearing surface after all.

Get down you local engineers with the car and they can measure and knock some up, or measure them yourself if you are feeling confident!

Its only a ring with a bit taken off with a lathe. Shouldn't think they would cost much more than a 10 per corner for some nice bespoke ones.

will the make of the wheel no be stamped somewhere on the wheel?

alternativly put a pic up and let others guess for you!!

that 64mm size sounds very similar to the TSW wheels centre bore that i run, and i used compomotive spigot rings on mine

is it the wheels on the car in your sig pic that you need the rings for? they look like smiths wheels to me.

Halfords sell spigot rings, but only for the wheels they sell, I have Renault wheels on mine, their bore is 57.0 and VW bore is 60 IIRC, spoke to Renault, and they suggested i buy a length of pipe with outer diameter of 60mm and inner diameter of 57.

Renault had a problem with the bore on the rear wheels on the 19 apparanty and that was their solution. [:s]
