Hi guys i need some advice on why the American 2.0 8v's have different inlet manifolds to UK cars. Here's an example. Uk spec: US spec: Is there a reason why they are different inlet manifolds?. There is a reason behind this crazy post and that is that im looking at supercharging my 2.0 8v and the company that does the superchargers are american and all the conversions ive seen are with US inlet manifolds. So is there any differences in the two manifolds or not?. Any advice would be great.
yep bottom pic is x-flow head, only found on 2.08v beetles over here. many discussions about if the x-flow is any better than say the 2e head. what company you using??
Im using a company called bahn brenner from the US. http://www.bahnbrenner.com/vw_audi/products/602/BBM_Supercharger_Kit_Lysholm_MKIII_2_0L They do two models, one for the 2.0 x-flow and one for the 2.0 ABA engine. Cheers for your help guys.
Yeah they sound awesome. If you want to hear some porn check this out!. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxhDLMrlL4Q
Love that sound! I was thinking of a 2.0l 8v with a Bahn Brenner charger for my planned Caddy project, but came unstuck regards the cross-flow head needed as well. What mods would a Beetle head need, or is it bolt on?
Its all bolt on, you get everyting in the kit that you need. Thats what makes it so appealing and you get the naughty sound of a charger screaming away.
Oh right sorry mate. I would've thought if your inlets are in the same position as the cross flow engine then i dont see why it shouldnt fit on.
