Can anyone shed any light on the following point.

If using Koni TAs on my Mk1, is it advisable to have lowered uprated springs, such as Eibach, or is it possible to use standard rate springs.

The reason I ask, is taht the Koni shocks and the original shocks that I took of the car were the same length, whereas I thought the Konis would have a shorter piston rod.

For everyday use, the so called 'springs' that was supplied with the kit are way to harsh and the ride is terrible. [:x]

You can use normal rate springs with them, lowest you`d want to go would be 40mm (they aren`t designed to go low), I ran my mk2 on vag springs and ta`s, found it better with eibach springs but they are firmer..

Don't know as they have no markings on them. They were part of the Koni SSK kit and not just a odd set thrown in by the shop.

Think the springs in the Koni SSK kit are made by Voigtland (sp?)
