I ned one for the engine sitting in my garage, and I was pondering what
else would fit it. Obviosly the one off a KR/9a etc... would physically
fit the hole on the Intake, but can it be used with the ABF, running
    Digifant?

It's a pain looking for a pucker ABF one, but there's loadsa KR/9a
intake manifold+Bodies about, it'd be muchos handy if it would work.

    Anyone got the knowledge?

    Cheers

Don't really follow what you are after. Do you have an ABF engine in your garage or a a kr or 9a?

ABF throttle bodies have a circular opening as opposed to kr/9a's oval with two butterflies.

ABF also has a Throttle Position Sensor whereas neither kr or 9a bodies do. The throttle switch is also not the same - 3 pin on kr/9a and 2 pin on ABF.

Aaaah, you've sort of answered my question then. I have an ABF in the
garage... And I thought it was an oval opening on the older engines!

I have seen a few ABF manifolds with throttle bodies and fuel rails going on ebay recently. Last one I saw went for about 25 quid. They normally seem to go for 50 or more though.

Yeah, last one I saw on Ebay was a maniflold and body together... I
asked him if he wanted to split them - I was going to offer him 30 for
it. He said no, unless it didn't sell. I checked back 2 days later, and
to my horror, both the Manifold and Throttle body had gone for 31!!![:x][:x][:x]

Professsseeeeuuurrrr, on ETKA, there's no difinitive part number for the throttle
body, just loads of components which I presume make the whole thing.
    Any ideas?

Yeah martyn, that's the diagram I was looking at - it just didn't seem like that was the whole lot... maybe it is.

How much is that lot from VAG? I haven't got a price file for my ETKA.
Anyone recently converted to 'bodies and doesn't need one anymore?!

It's the whole tb including the throttle pot dashpot and a few screws. 285 :o according to my slightly out-of-date prices. Things like that are always daft from VAG.

    :o and indeed, twice :o.
That sucks ass. There's a place on ebay that sells loadsa VAG TBs, more
modern ones though. I'm gonna send them the pt no. and he says he'll
see what he can do. I suspect it'll only be half as daft... i.e still
three times what I want to pay .

Do you know any good mail order scrapies that are good for engine bits
like these? The closest ABF I've ever found (apart from mine) to me was
in a scrappy 100 miles away, and that was about 2 years ago. I mean I
know I'm gonna get ass raped for a few components, but that's just
    stupid!

    Hi there.

Sounds like what I'm after. Send me some pics if you like, and I'll
have a think. Would you split the two (I've already got the inlet)? I
won't be at Inters as it's a good 6 hour drive from here![:^(]
