strange noise

    i get a dodgy noise when driving it sounds similar to squeekin brakes but constant. sumtimes its there and sumtimes it isnt,what could this be? i kno it isnt the brakes,sounds like it comes from the rear of the car but im not certain.

    exhaust? had that before and it was a loose bracket.

    I had a similar thing when i had my (cough)Astra!! and it was a little twig stuck by the back of the wheel!! But ttok ages to find out what it was!!

    My grandad had a funny scratching noise in his car once and it only happened now and again... it was a flipping mouse!

    my ex had a mouse living under the bonnet of her polo, it ate through all the screen washer hoses and some of the wiring insulation. cost a fortune to get put right!

    Would have said CV joints, but they are at the front!

    Jack the back of the car up and give each wheel a spin to see if you can get closer to the noise.

    Also could be fuel pump
