    Mine doesn't have one.
Assumed it did but when I actually got round to doing the rear of my project....there is'nt one.
I have the rear beam of to do a number of things to it and I can't see any reason why a solid rear beam would need one.

Did the 8v Gti rear suspension change over the years?
What rear set up does the 16v have?

It will be there somewhere i am sure. Its actually in the rear beam so if you look closely I am sure you will find it.

It's not actually a bar like the front.. it's that tube welded into the beam running in the V of the beam.

Ah I see. I did see that. Clearly not easily removed then.
So how do you fit a "Eibach" uprated one if it is welded in!? I am not planning on doing it this time round anyway but worth knowing.

You don't need to remove the standard one... the Eibach one bolt to the suspension mounting point at the rear of the beam and then straps to the underside of the main beam section.. and it's a lot similar to the front ARB.

    Cheers.
By suspension mounting point do you mean the bracket that the rear dampers/shocks bolt to? Do you have any pictures?
