short answer: yes long answer: no, but they swap. the curvature on the original mk1 panel is ever so slightly different, but VW have superceeded the MK1 panel with the MK2 panel just be aware earlier MK1 sunroof parts differ to later, but if you have the complete sunroof package late type will fit early shell. although, actually, iirc, the VERY early MK1 shell uses a completely different sunroof assembly and the later stuff wont fit... what year is your car?
