T4 tdi engine missile

    got a T4 tdi just dropped her to work on the way back i lost all power with a big bang then saw the bottom pulley overtaking me down the road

    its a 1,9tdi ABL engine guessing thats the valves bent looks like its sheared the bottom pulley bolt[:^(] [:^(] [:^(]

    they should have used 8v digifant bolts to handle that much torque

    lucky it was a quiet road could have killed someone with the pulley flying through the air like that

    but in a diesel, surely it wasnt doing more than 50-60rpm? lol

    on a much more serious note, when are you going to get a chance to pull the engine apart and inspect the damage?

    i was just pulley away and getting into 2nd gear very low speed

    im hoping i can get it stripped this weekend may just put a new pulley and belt on and see if it starts dont hold much hope

    think it will be new valves and guides

    make sure u check the crank 4 damage. i tryed new pulley b4 and usualy fine 4 short period then suddenly timing goes belly up. pulley sheared again

    from first inspection the bolt has sheared but at low speed revs so fingers crossed

    i had an a4 tdi long ago that had had a new head just before i got it cos of the cambelt dying.

    leads be to beleive they are interface

    im afraid it will have bent my valves had a cambelt go on it before did 4 valves last time lol

    the biggest problem will be getting the sheared bolt out of the crank as its snapped right in there

    now im having a mare getting the cabby ready for its mot at 2pm today just broke the hazard switch lol
