So drove my GTI for the first time earlier, my god it goes! Only thing is, the engine sounds tappy at higher revs. Any ideas? It doesn't sound unhealthy, and there are no strange vibrations etc. Hope it's nothing major. It sounds fine low down and still keeps pulling. I'm unaware as to when exactly it last had an oil change, thought this could be part of it. Sorry forgot to add it's a mk2 gti 8v digifant.
Change the oil first, if it still remains then you maybe worry about it. Older engines i've had would get noisier when the oil was starting to go off a bit.
