Got a major head ache [:^(] of a job on a Audi TDi (1.9), same as VW?

the car came in over heated / loss of head gasket.
    nothing to major so far...

we rebuilt engine( top half) head went to a machine shop /engineer)

all back in one piece, starts first time no probs,

The problem is now when it hits 3000 RPM the car just dies like it has no compression(valve not closeing)

we have checked tappets, all markings, oil pressure within maxium(we're getting 7 bar, audi say 10/11 Max) expecting too high oil pressure, keeping valves open

    Audi diagnostic shows nothing odd!!

    Ideas...

7 bar oil pressure seems too high to me! at what RPM is this oil pressure reached?
Try a different oil pump, it could be the oil pressure valve sticking and jacking the valves open.

    thanks for replying EvoZippy

Rpm is reaching 3K every time, then dies, won't start due to no compression(turns over freely!)
7 bar seems high, Audi documents (off them) say 120lbs of pressure max, it's close :o

oil pump, that's was my idea as well
    I'll let you peeps know
