While doing enthusiastic speeds through allot of standing water on Friday steering went heavy and tuff ..popped bonnet sure enough powersteering belt was off and snapped i put it down to being blasted off by allot of water/sudden temperature change /old belt etc The car was still drivable as long as the wheels turned slowly .... Anyway bought a new belt fitted it drove home again after being at motor speeds it fell off!. My question is when a power steering pump goes what symptoms do you get ? Do they seize and throw belts?should i be able to turn the pump wheel by hand ??there is fluid is the reservoir Thanks in advance for helping
I'd imagine the adjuster has slackened off or is slackening off after a period, so throwing the belt.
Yeah my first thought! gonna buy another tomorrow . Do the pumps seize tho ? As the first belt looks like its got very hot ?
