thanks 4 the reply’s 8v golf wont run

    thank for the replys the golf is a 89 8v model and i bought it off a mate who blew the engine and replaced it with a 87 8v engine since then its had the problem its had a new dizzy,cap, rotor arm, air flow meterand a service my mate said he try,d a ecu but it was the same but when it do's run it runs sweet but just 4 a little bit:(

    Does the engine cut out when it is warm?


    If this is the case it sounds like the hall sender which is located below your new rotor arm and the dust cap. you may have over looked this by only changing the rotor arm and dizzy cap. I dont know if you can buy the hall sender alone but i would just change the distributer. Good luck
