For 8.5k you could pay someone to build you a crazy mad 20vT if you were so inclined and still have enough cash to go wild in Vegas for a week.

Or am I missing something? Is Tiff Needell the 'King of Scene' and the fact that he's breathed in this car add eleventy billion scene points?

He's added 'fame' tax to the usual Oak Green 'scene tax' and the standard Pistonheads 'dreamer' tax. Thats a lot of tax.

:lol::lol::lol::lol: It would be OK if you could use it for work and claim all that tax back.

I ocasionally think of selling mine which is not as good but i'd hapily swap it for a very clean, standard J-reg grey 16v (anyone???;))

Only another 4-4.5k and it'll be a reasonable price!

Thats probably the biggest mark up on a car ever. after all, it only cost the price of a text message! (would still like to own it though)

haha ive been waiting to see this for sale...

the only thing thats worth anything really is the engine, like others have said for that money you can get somthing much better with nearly double the power...

Whilst the engine is undoubtedly the highlight- on the road I bet it's not hugely different to a decent 2L converted car.

An ABF or 9A conversion costs peanuts too;)

not sure what the output/spec of that engine is, but surely they would have acheived more with an ABF and a similar amount of effort?

Just watched the fifth gear episode with it in...

    272 newman cams

    H section rods

Blocks bored and skimmed. Assume headwork too.

I like Tiff's comment at the end... " this has to be 'one of the best' Mk2 GTi Golfs in the world!" [:[]

The 1900's retain the stroke of the 1800 and increase the bore making for a revvy motor..

7800 limit on that TSR car...

A 9A/ABF conversion will make less power but feel more tractable on the road.

Add flowed head and fruitier cams and the 1900's power (with high comp pistons) should be matchable
