Came round a heavily salted bend on a crest, as i went down the other side i noticed a big volvo 4x4 but couldn't stop in time... i was probably only doing 20-odd when i hit... plus his speed i guess.
volvo was fine, broken bumper etc...

oh yeah, 30 odd stitches in the chin/lip... nice bent steering wheel...

i'm sure this car was cursed, i just got it back on the road after some silly bird ran into it on boxing day :(

yeah, not sure if the other guy slowed down much... it was a 30 limit and he said he was doing 30 at the impact...
plus his car was much higher so it seems to have almost ridden over my bonnet...

At least you walked away with fairly minor injuries, could have been a LOT worse! [8(]

Depends if my mate is busy or not as to wether I go tonight.

By the way I have a G plate red 5 door 8v for sale very soon with full MOT if that incident hasn't put you off GTI's forever.

haha don't think i'll be insuring a GTI for a while, was just getting cheap too :( 3 years driving, one year no claims...
it could have been a lot worse, if i'd been in the alto, only just finished the golf yesterday, i doubt i'd be as healthy if i'd been in the baked bean tin...

Yeah thats the main thing, cars can be replaced (though you don't find many Mk2's with a genuine 69k on em) ;)but your health is more important.

Might well be over tonight, my cousin's up for coming along but please don't beat him up, he drives a Clio 172

    haha i'll be in a 993cc suzuki alto ;)
might be there, let me know if you will be, other possibility is changing a clutch on a calibra...
do you still have my mobile number?
it'd only just hit 70200 miles :( cost me 200 to have it salvaged, plus i have to pay to scrap it! gonna get someone from the scrap yard to pick it up then i'll have what i want off it...

i swear to god this car is trying to kill me... just took it for scrap and was stripping some bits off, my dad was prying away at something with a breaker bar, he slipped and hit me in the face! so now i've got a lovely gash next to my eye to complement the rest of my injuries! :( and the central locking control box is smashed.. :(

Yeah, on reflection it was pretty funny :p Didn't seem it at the time though :(
it looks worse than it is i think - the chassis leg isn't pushed back really, the volvo's just gone over it, bloody tall 4x4s :(
