    Howdy All,

Spent 5 hours yesterday cleaning the VR *Phew* [8-}]

It took forever but I am quite impressed with how it turned out.
    • Wetted
    • Washed
    • Cleaned Wheels
    • Clayed
    • Washed (again [:$])
    • Dried
    • Cleaned the Paint
    • Polished
    • Waxed
Used the Meguiars Clay bar and Step1+2+3 system (Cleaner, Polish, Wax), plus lots of microfibre towels. [:D]

I've clayed the car about 3 times in the last 4-5 weeks and it really is as smooth as glass ! ;) The next door neighbour said it was as smooth as 'glass' ... hehehe and they have a brand new X3  and that was without bribing them

I will be getting a 'new bonnet' tomorrow ... phew get rid of that little dink in it (no prizes for who sees it first !). I will also get the front and rear bumpers resprayed soon and the grill too (or do I go for the full re-spray ? [:$])

When I get some of the paintwork sorted I'll start using that Swissvax Wax. Can't wait to get my hands on that stuff, maybe the Onyx or the Saphir to start with.

I don't bother cleaning my car anymore as giant seagulls like to use my car for target practice lately. [:x]

Literally, I'll clean it in the afternoon and by the next morning it's caked in ****.

i like the look of that. top score indeed

did the clay bar make a good difference?
at the moment the lacquer on my bonnet is horrible. aside from the serious stonechipping, the lacquer is very marked.

would a clay bar fix that or should i just buff it again when im home lol

    Thanks for the comments guys.

Here's a little vid for you all :p

    http://www.flicklife.com/8675e3cd472fc826828c/Most_expensive_car_wash_ever.html

Shows you some nice cleaning techniques (still learning myself).

I'm not sure that a clay bar will sort your lacquer our Matt, that might be a re-spray job [8(] or alternatively see if the local scrap-yard has a good bonnet going ! (that's what I'm doing tomorrow [:*:])

The clay bar picks up dirt and small particles of rust from the surface of the paint ! I highly recommend using one, they work a real treat and boy do they make your paintwork feel like smooth glass .... especially after a polish and wax !
