My second car i bought to be an ongoing project.
    Will be a trackday/weekend/experimenting car

Searching for an 2.0 16v ABF to put in at the mo and while i'm waiting it's being stripped, sprayed and tidied up

Got it as a 91' H reg 1.6 driver for 300, engine is a bit manky but goes ok and more importantly the bodywork is mint!

You call that a manky engine bay? You should come and have a look at mine, looks like some dumbass over filled it with oil at some point and buggered the rocker cover gasket. Plus there's also a ton of old CV joint grease spread all over the passenger side from a massive tear in the boot, it was nearly in 2 halves when I got it!

It's pretty easy actually. I've learnt a hell of a lot so far from taking this mk2 to bits. Lucky for me most of it doesnt need putting back together!

eek! what colour is it going to be? looking at the pics it seemed to be in too good a condition to warrent a colour change. Anyway, are you doing all the work yourself in a single garage?

Just read your post again. For 300 quid who cares if you change the colour [:D]

its going to be a fairly dark grey. The body was in good condition but thats what i was looking for. Red really isnt my thing and i was going to change it whatever colour it was when i bought it. Just wanted a good base to work on.

Yeah i'm doing all the work myself. At home! [:s]

Are you learning as you go or have you done this before. I'm tempted to do something myself but I don't want to bite off more than I can chew and end up with a garage full of scrap...

totally learning as i go. My garage is now full of the interior until i get round to selling it. Never sprayed a car before....never done an engine swap before....never had a mk2 before

But......its the only way to learn
