Was out driving today & pulled out of a junction sharply.. 4500rpm change to second, clutch up.....BANG! No drive but lots of clattering noises.... [:^(] Managed to get the car off the road & jacked it up for a look. Expected to see a big hole in the gearbox! The NSF driveshaft had become disconnected at the flange where it joins the gearbox. Looks like the bolts had just come loose!! Loads of grease everywhere, but managed to do a few of the bolts up handtight & luckily it limped home ok.. 2 of the spline drive bolts are dead (bent/mashed) but apart from that, no permanent damage!!! Lucky me!! Edited by: chrismc
Mine has done that before!!! not to me 1 of the pervious owners as ive got a reciept from a breadown company
Just glad it doesnt appear to have done anything more serious than knacker a couple of bolts............ Only check tightened them about 2 months ago... Maybe the trackday caused them to slacken
