    Hi All,

I have a Mk3 VR6 and sometimes 2nd gear baulks a bit (which is common I hear) [:x]. But this is quite rare. It has 75k mile on the clock & full VW service history (apart from me servicing it last year).

I am about to service my car and was at VW in Nottingham and bought 2 litres of gear box oil (10) with the idea that I can change the oil, and perhaps improve the gear box somewhat.

Is this a good idea or am I on a hiding to nothing ?

    Thanks.

Worth trying the oil first, if it makes a bit of a difference use the vag stuff as a flush then change again to Redline MT90 - if your lucky it may sort it...

If it does turn out to be the box then maybe best to get rebuilt you need the chains and clutch doing...
