Ouch, some recoil. My old man knew some elephant hunters out in africa, said they could only shoot a few rounds then needed a few days to recover. A bit like the gun in the 2nd vid, but usually with two barrels, chambered anywhere between .450 - .600 cal. Two barrels, the first to knock the elephant over, the second you'd have to climb up on top of it while it was stunned and deliver the coup de grace. All this was back in the 50's, though there is still come culling done by the park authorities.
