Just changed the front right cv boot and now my tracking is off, it steers straight with the wheel about 4cm to the right of centre. Not really sure why the tracking would have changed. Any ideas?

What did you take apart to allow enough movement to take out the cv joint from the hub?

If you removed the 3 bolts which secure the bottom ball joint to the lower arm then this will throw everything out.

Similarly if you have aftermarket suspension and you undid the two bolts securing the hub to the strut then this can also throw everything out.

Hmmmm undid quite a few things on both sides as was also changing discs and pads and had difficulty with silly tight bolts. Think the answer could be to take it to get tracked :p

You will need the camber set and tracking adjusted.

Took the Golf to "Tyre Pros" and they did the toe in/out but said they couldnt set the camber as they would not know what to set it to because it's lowered. Do I need to get some different figures to set the camber if it is lowered then?
