I am going to increase the size of my mk2 16v brakes. It is a 1989 model, so it has the bigger 256mm brakes already and I want to fit brakes without changing the wheels (15 inch TSW Stealths)

TSR do a 285mm kit, calipers extention brackets, Pagid pads, and the bigger black diamond disks, for 279. That sounds like a good deal to me. Has anyone fitted this kit? Is it reasonable quality? Are they getting confused with the mk1 285mm kit?

I have phoned around quite a bit seeing what other firms are offering. C+R want 195, then you have to buy the pads and disks on top of that. VW sel the proper brand new G60 caliper extensions for 100 each!! And AutoTechnik say I would be best finding some in a scrapyard. I can't find ay localy to me, which is how I ended up ringing TSR.

I know a lot of you don't like TSR, bu I have always found them to be alright, if a bit on the expensive side.

    So what do you think?

I would personally go for a G60 280mm set up, for ease and price. The discs are cheap as.

Someone must have some for sale - try wanted ads on PVW.

Front - Black Diamond grooved discs with Mintex 1144 pads - standard size & calipers

Rear - kept standard discs with Mintex 1144 pads

    .....Excellent

    1982 8v

TSR 270mm BB kit works fine..........worth the money

wussel, try 'andrew ensom' on PVW forum, i'm sure he sells the new G60 caliper extensions a lot cheaper than VAG

Get your caliper sliders machined as per my big brake pageand use 16v fitment (16.3mm) pads and 280mm G60 discs...

Ate power discs from ECP are about 70

I got mine from a Seat Ibiza Cupra owner who was upgrading, the Cupra has the same setup as the G60 and are red power coated.

It Could be worth putting a advert on a Seat forum to see if anyone has a second hand set. As a common upgrade is to fit the new Cupra R setup Brembo`s from the dealer for about 350 notes ( these required 17" wheels)

Thanks for the replies. Gary, I have tried Andrew Ensom, but he dosn't do them anymore, he only deals in new parts, like disks and pads.

Right then I have sourced a couple of Ibiza Cupra owners who are doing the Brembo upgrade soon. How much do you reckon their standard front brakes are worth?

Also is there a specific model or year when they were fitted with the G60 style brakes?

Moderators please feel free to delete my post if it is classified as advertising.
I purchased my G60 calliper Carriers off a chap called Philip Walker who used to post on the old forum. They actually came off a Audi Quattro but they are the same as G60 280 spec. I paid around sixty pound for two. You should be able to contact him at

    sales@pwmotorsport.

    Hope this helps
    Pete
