Hello, first proper post bar the hello.

I'm looking at a mk1 Syncro it's missing it's original engine but being sold with a 16v. As it's out I may as well do a few bits. From what iv read I THINK the following is the way to go. Please advise (:

    2l bottom end
    Ground cams
    Skimmed
K&N panel filter with modded box
4 branch manifold and full exhaust
Then down to stealth for WUR mod and set up

    Any where close?

    Thanks for all advice

    Luke

    Pretty much it.

A 2ltr isn't a must as an 1800 can perform well, though a 2ltr will make more torque overall. Std 1800 KR cams or 2ltr ABF cams are good for std items and for road use...the ABF's are the slightly better cam. Or for use with std management/Injection use something around 264-268 duration for road use on std pistons/c.r.

The standard cast exhaust manifold is pretty good with std or mild cams...most aftermarket manifolds don't give a huge increase until wilder cams comes into play. A ported head only really needs decent valve seats done and some throat work. For road use keep the ports fairly std size.
