Twin carbs

    Im getting my 40s fitted either this weekend or next has anyone got any useful info they can give me ?

    if youve got the correct spring type washers and nuts to fit to the manifold,dont tighten them up fully.

    you can use a feeler gauge to get the correct gap in the washer,but just nip them far enough by eye. [:D]

    Hi mate cheers,

    Did you fit yours yourself ? will i need anything else as im swaping a complete setup from a mk2 golf to a mk1, will the fuel pump and everything work ok ?

    Also is it best to use filter socks or make an airbox with ram feed ?

    anddddd one more thing what sort of heatsheliding do i need on an 8v ? ive got a half heatwrapped tsr 421 manifold.

    Oddly enough I think measured my manifold up and my carbs with trumpets and filters and found that I cannot get twin 40's to fit.

    Left me stumped, so I will be glad to know how you get on.

    Sam, what size fuel pressure regulator have you used?

    most say that filter socks restrict air flow more so than a box/filter,but any filters are gonna restrict a little.

    ive always used socks as i just prefer the simple look and easy on off use.

    Ive got some killer cold air feeds up my sleve [:D]

    luke w i dont have a clue mate i just bought the mk2 for the carbs to put on to my cab

    you going to mod the bluk head? ive seen that done before, make a custom airbox to fit in the bulk head,
